BUSKIRK APPOINTED TO COMMON CORE TASK FORCE

KSTF Senior Fellow Heather Buskirk was appointed to the Common Core Task Force established by New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. Announced on September 28, 2015, the Task Force is composed of a “diverse and highly-qualified group of education officials, teachers, parents, and state representatives from across New York.” The Task Force “is charged with comprehensively reviewing and making recommendations to overhaul the current Common Core system” and the way the state tests its students. Heather teaches physics at Johnstown (NY) High School and serves as an instructional coach for Hamilton Fulton Montgomery Pathways in Technology School (HFM PTech), a new career focused school in her community.
