Mathematics Teacher/Team 2 Specialist
Laura Evans is a mathematics educator with more than 17 years of classroom experience. For 10 years, she taught algebra, geometry and calculus at a public high school in the Bay Area. Later, she worked as a high school math coordinator. This work was funded by a four-year math instruction improvement grant. As a participant in the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program, she traveled to Scotland for 12 months. While there, Laura taught in a Scottish public school near Glasgow. In addition to teaching mathematics at Bayside STEM Middle School, she serves as a lecturer/section leader for the Teaching and Learning in Heterogeneous Classrooms course at Stanford University and as a professional development consultant specializing in curriculum and instruction support through Complex Instruction. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from California State University, East Bay and a Master of Arts in education from Stanford University.
