Karen Sass

Research Assistant

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in geography from the University of Maryland, College Park. Immediately following graduation, she went to work for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Goddard Space Center as a research assistant. For the last 11 years, Karen has worked in the non-profit arena. Prior to joining KSTF, she spent several years at The Glaucoma Foundation, where she last served as the director of operations. In 2009, she joined the KSTF team as a program assistant. She was promoted to program coordinator, before assuming her current position in 2011. As a research assistant, Karen is responsible for data collection and management. She also manages and coordinates internal and external research and evaluation activities. Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Karen currently resides in Cherry Hill, N.J., with her husband, their son and their “big, beautiful American Mastiff.”
