Larry Ottman

Mathematics Teacher/Team 2 Specialist

For 26 years, Larry has taught in public schools located in both New Jersey and New York. For the last 13 years, he has also provided standards-based, technology focused, professional development consultations and workshops at schools and at conferences nationwide. Chosen for his demonstration of excellence in classroom teaching and technology usage, Larry is a national instructor for the professional development wing of Texas Instruments—Teachers Teaching with Technology (T³). In recognition of his efforts in the classroom, Larry received the nation’s highest honor for teachers of mathematics and science—the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Additionally, he received the Radio Shack National Technology Teacher Award and was selected to participate in the first Galapagos Islands study tour sponsored by the Toyota International Teacher Program. Larry previously served as editor of the Tech Tips column for Mathematics Teacher magazine. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in music (piano performance) from The King’s College, as well as a Master of Arts in educational technology leadership from George Washington University. Larry is currently studying to earn a graduate certificate in applied statistics from Kansas State University. Hailing from Schenectady, N.Y., he now resides in Laurel Springs, N.J., with his spouse, their two daughters and their cat.
