“I believe mathematics is a tool to explain the world we live in and should be taught as such. I am interested in improving my teaching within the context of the world of students and helping them see the utility of the mathematical principles they learn.”
During his undergraduate studies, Riley volunteered at a rural middle school in Washington state, where he encouraged students to consider college. Additionally, he was elected to serve as an Alumni Board Member for the Washington State branch of the College Success Foundation, an organization that is committed to improving college access for underrepresented students.
Riley enjoys skiing, hiking, dining at local restaurants and watching television, especially football.
