Muskego High School
Chemistry and Physical Science
“Science is everywhere you look; I like being able to see something and know how it works. It makes me appreciate everything around me.”
During her undergraduate studies, Sarah worked as a Chemistry Teaching Assistant. As a graduate student, she worked as a Research Assistant in soil science. In this role, she created a qPCR primer that could detect E. coli. Sarah also worked as a community volunteer tutor for Schools of Hope—a unique collaboration of the Madison Metropolitan School District, United Way of Dane County, and local area non-profit agencies designed to increase the academic performance of students of color and those from low-income families. During the 2014–2015 academic year, she began teaching full time.
Sarah enjoys reading, watching television, traveling, whitewater kayaking and hip hop dancing.
