PERMISSION FOR USE

Guidelines for Duplicating, Reprinting, Creating Internet or Text Linkages to, Posting or Translating Knowles Science Teaching Foundation Publications and Research

The Knowles Science Teaching Foundation (KSTF) owns the copyright for all content published by the Foundation, regardless of format (e.g., print or online), and is committed to protecting our intellectual property. Please consult the guidelines below and request permission as appropriate prior to using copyrighted content.

Duplication Guidelines: Publications and Research for Academic Use

KSTF permits educators to duplicate 50 copies of content published online or in print—including issues of Kaleidoscope: Educator Voices and Perspectives—free of charge, provided that:

  • duplicated content will be used strictly for educational purposes by a nonprofit organization
  • copies are distributed free of charge, notwithstanding the cost of duplication
  • each copy includes a full citation of the source (see format below)
    • Lindsay Wells’s “Future stories” [Kaleidoscope: Educator Voices and Perspectives, 1(2), pages 3­6] is reprinted with permission from the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation (KSTF). The Knowles Science Teaching Foundation (KSTF) was established by Janet H. and C. Harry Knowles in 1999 to increase the number of high quality high school science and mathematics teachers and ultimately, improve math and science education in the United States. If you need to make more than 50 copies, please send a detailed description of your request to the KSTF Administrative Assistant via email at info@kstf.org.

This authorization does not include articles, illustrations, graphics, or photographs not copyrighted by KSTF.

To duplicate any KSTF publication and/or research (in whole or in part) for non­academic use, please complete the Request to Reprint (PDF) form and and submit it to the KSTF Administrative Assistant via email, fax, or mail. Permission to Reprint KSTF Content in Another Publication, Online,​or in a Text Message

Responsible linking from your website or from a text message to KSTF content is acceptable, provided permission has been granted by KSTF. To request permission, please complete the Request to Reprint (PDF) form and submit it to the KSTF Administrative Assistant via email, fax, or mail. Permission should also be requested and granted via the aforementioned process prior to re­creating or posting KSTF materials on your website or in a text message.

KSTF may request, as a condition of its approval, to receive at no charge a copy of all printed or electronic materials which include KSTF’s intellectual property
