As an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, Danny Hahn loved logical progression and the way that math and chemistry analyses had a knack for “working out, for being justifiable and interconnected.” Danny graduated with a chemical engineering degree but had no real passion to pursue this field in the business world. “I dabbled in summer positions as a lab assistant, and wondered how something so technical could hold my interest.” What Danny really loved was visiting his youth group back home, serving as a camp counselor, and building relationships with young people.
After graduation Danny was about to go home to Southern California when a friend who was teaching told him that a math position had opened up in her middle school. Danny found himself teaching 6th and 7th grade math and enjoying every minute. “I realized that this was something I wanted to spend my life doing.” Danny earned his master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education in 2006. “Looking back, I can see all the ways that my personal path was pointing toward a life in education. My sincere hope is that I can offer my students my very best.” Danny is the co-leader of a Professional Learning Community at his school.
