THE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP EXPERIENCE

Community of Scholars

The KSTF Research Fellows become members of a scholarly community that supports them in completing their research and serves as a forum to discuss and learn about issues of research on science and mathematics teaching, and the sometimes challenging process of becoming a successful scholar in academic and research environments. They participate in spring, summer and fall meetings, as well as virtual seminars and informal interactions throughout the year.

Mentoring and Networking

Research Fellows have multiple opportunities to meet individually or in small groups with senior researchers to discuss their research projects, as well as more general research and career issues. Fellows encounter a variety of senior researchers throughout the year, particularly at the spring and fall meetings, often resulting in continued interaction and collaboration. Hilda Borko, Angela Calabrese-Barton, Elham Kazemi, and Mark Windschitl are among the senior researchers who have worked with the Research Fellows.
